          This is a reproduction of the first Military Aviator Wings in the world. Issued by the US Army, in 1913, the first wings were 14k gold as is this reproduction. About 27 or 28 real ones were made, it is not known for sure. The original design was made by Hap Arnold. As such these are very rare.

            In 1913 the Military Aviator Badge was authorized by Congress and was awarded to 27 or 28 Signal Corp pilots. This badge is a replica made from the original that was awarded to 2nd Lt.
